South Africa’s CFS Aviation Rebrands After Ownership Shift

Comair Flight Services, based at Johannesburg Lanseria Airport, has undergone a major restructuring and rebranding following a change in ownership. Parrot Aviation, the parent company of Federal Airlines (South Africa), has acquired the 50% stake previously held by Comair General Aviation Holdings. Simultaneously, co-founder and CEO Justin Reeves has purchased the remaining minority shares. The company has now rebranded as CFS Aviation Group.
Justin Reeves emphasized that the new structure supports the company’s long-term vision while maintaining operational independence. “This move strengthens our shareholder base and ensures CFS remains agile and focused on premium aviation services,” he said in a statement.
The transaction, which concludes a 12-year partnership with Comair, was approved by the South African Competition Commission. Despite the shared ownership under Parrot Aviation, both CFS and Federal Airlines will continue to operate independently, with distinct management and branding. CFS also retains its own Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC), with Reeves continuing in his role as Group CEO.
CFS Aviation Group operates a diverse charter fleet that includes a Learjet 45, two Learjet 45XRs, a Citation M2, a Beechjet 400XT, a Pilatus PC-24, two King Air B200s, and twelve Pilatus PC-12s.
Beyond charter services, CFS offers aircraft management, aircraft sales, and operates a full-service fixed-base operation (FBO) at Lanseria Airport. The rebranding and ownership shift mark a new chapter in the company’s strategy to grow its footprint in South Africa’s business aviation market.
