EOS-X Space Acquires Struggling Space Perspective

Space tourism company Space Perspective has been acquired by Madrid-based EOS-X Space following a competitive bidding process, according to an announcement by law firm Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo, which represents the new owner. The acquisition marks a major shift in the evolving space tourism sector and signals a potential revival for Space Perspective, which had ceased operations earlier this year amid financial and legal turmoil.
Space Perspective, known for its vision of sending tourists to the edge of space using high-altitude balloons, faced eviction from multiple properties, including its operational site at a Florida airport. The company had gone silent with customers and partners, leading travel consortium Signature Travel Network to advise its advisors to notify clients with deposits about concerns over the company’s viability.
While financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed, EOS-X Space confirmed it has acquired the technology, assets, and intellectual property of Space Perspective through an asset purchase agreement. The company will not take on the previous entity’s debts, contractual obligations, or customer reservations. Deposits paid to the former Space Perspective are currently being handled through liquidation proceedings, with oversight by a court-appointed fiduciary.
Under new ownership, Space Perspective will retain part of its former team and operate autonomously, with a U.S. headquarters and an assembly facility in California. Plans are in motion for the company to resume near-space flights from a spaceport at Florida’s Kennedy Space Center, although it remains unclear where operations will be located given ongoing eviction proceedings from the site’s landlord, Space Florida.
EOS-X Space CEO Kemel Kharbachi called the acquisition a “historic opportunity” for two once-rival companies to collaborate in realizing commercial space travel. While the new name of the company has not been announced, EOS-X Space emphasized that this is a completely new operation with different ownership, leadership, and strategic direction.
The company said it is currently reassessing its customer journey and pricing model. Space Perspective had originally priced seats at $125,000, but future pricing and sales plans remain under review as the company aims to refine its value proposition before reopening bookings.
This acquisition positions EOS-X Space to consolidate market share in the luxury space tourism industry, combining its existing high-altitude balloon strategy with the infrastructure and innovations developed by Space Perspective. As EOS-X moves forward, the revived brand is expected to focus on operational readiness, regulatory compliance, and re-establishing trust with travelers and industry partners.
The new Space Perspective aims to chart a different trajectory from its predecessor, distancing itself from the liabilities of the past while leveraging its technological base and growing consumer interest in space travel.
