TakeUp Raises $11M to Boost Hotel Revenue with AI

Hotel revenue optimization startup TakeUp has secured $11 million in Series A funding to expand its artificial intelligence-driven platform aimed at helping independent hospitality brands improve pricing and drive revenue. The funding round was led by 1848 Ventures and will support TakeUp’s mission to level the playing field for smaller hotels competing against larger chains.
TakeUp uses causal inference AI models that analyze guest behavior to fine-tune pricing strategies in real time. The platform adapts dynamically to market conditions, setting optimal rates moment by moment to help properties maximize revenue. The system also pairs each hotel with a dedicated revenue strategist, positioning pricing as a powerful competitive edge for independent operators.
CEO Bobby Marhamat emphasized the need to make AI more accessible across the industry. “There can’t be a monopoly on AI for a handful of brands if the industry is going to continue to grow and thrive,” he said. “We’re tearing down the walled garden and democratizing the landscape by giving our customers transparent, automated tools to win—first on pricing and eventually across the entire revenue funnel.”
While TakeUp currently focuses on pricing optimization, the company is building a broader revenue engine designed to help smaller hospitality brands generate demand, increase conversions, and implement comprehensive revenue strategies. By learning what works and adjusting tactics in real time, the platform allows hotels to better respond to fluctuating market trends and guest behaviors.
Investors are backing the startup’s bold approach to disrupting an industry long dominated by larger players. “The independent hospitality space has been underserved for too long,” said Kal Amin, managing partner at 1848 Ventures. “Smaller hotels have been left with spreadsheets while big brands use AI to win guests and dollars. TakeUp is arming this industry with smarter tools and bold execution.”
As part of its growth plan, TakeUp aims to expand its platform capabilities beyond pricing to cover the full revenue lifecycle. The goal is to give small and mid-sized hotels the same advantages as larger chains by offering a scalable, AI-powered solution that enhances decision-making across marketing, booking, and operations.
This funding round comes at a time when hotels are increasingly looking for advanced tools to recover revenue lost during global disruptions and navigate volatile travel demand. For independent hotels, AI-driven platforms like TakeUp offer a path to smarter, more agile revenue management without the complexity or cost of enterprise systems.
With the Series A funding now secured, TakeUp is well-positioned to accelerate its product development and customer growth, helping more independent hotels adopt technology that can turn pricing into a strategic asset in a competitive and fast-changing market.
