American Airlines to Launch Budapest, Prague Flights in 2026

American Airlines will expand its international network in summer 2026 with six new routes, including the only nonstop U.S. service to Budapest, Hungary, and new flights to Prague, Czech Republic.
Starting May 21, 2026, the carrier will operate daily seasonal service from Philadelphia to both Budapest and Prague using Boeing 787-8 aircraft. These additions increase Philadelphia’s transatlantic network to 20 destinations. The Budapest launch restores direct U.S.–Hungary service for the first time since LOT Polish Airlines ended its Budapest–New York JFK route in 2022.
While Delta Air Lines serves Prague from New York JFK and Air Canada operates summer service from Toronto, American will be the only U.S. airline offering nonstop flights to the Czech capital from Philadelphia.
American will also launch daily seasonal Dallas-Fort Worth–Athens service on May 21, joining its existing routes to the Greek capital from New York JFK, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Charlotte. From March 29, Miami will see new daily year-round flights to Milan, complementing seasonal service to Rome.
From May 21 to Aug. 4, Dallas-Fort Worth will gain limited-time summer service to Zurich. Additionally, the carrier will extend Dallas-Fort Worth–Buenos Aires flights into summer and add frequencies from Miami to the Argentine capital, supporting increased demand during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
On the Asia front, American will expand premium seating to Tokyo Haneda starting March 29, with a daily 777-300ER from Dallas-Fort Worth and twice-daily 777-200ER service from Los Angeles.
