Dallas Fort Worth DFW Airport Construction Triggers 90 Days of Delays and Detours

Dallas Fort Worth DFW International Airport has begun the first of three major construction phases for its International Parkway Project, prompting a 90-day period of detours and delays near Terminal B.
Travelers are advised to allow an extra 30–45 minutes to navigate potential congestion. The project’s initial phase, starting in early August, involves demolishing the existing flyover bridge into Terminal B and replacing it with a newly constructed bridge. This upgrade is part of a larger effort to reconfigure access to Terminals A, B, and C, transitioning to new right-hand exits from International Parkway.
From Wednesday, August 6, a section of South Service Road will close for approximately 52 hours, reopening early Saturday, August 9. This closure will give crews the space needed to safely remove part of the flyover bridge. During this time, Terminal B will only be accessible via the southbound entrance from International Parkway, with detour signage directing traffic.
With extensive roadway and terminal upgrades underway, DFW officials urge travelers to plan ahead by using the DFW Airport mobile app and signing up for construction alerts.
