FBI Probes Midair Fight on Breeze Airways Flight

The FBI is investigating a midair brawl that forced a Breeze Airways flight from Virginia to California to divert on the morning of August 13.
Breeze flight MX704, traveling from Norfolk International Airport to Los Angeles International Airport, was diverted to Grand Junction Regional Airport in Colorado after a passenger “initiated a physical altercation with other guests and flight attendants,” the airline told Fox News Digital.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department, an intoxicated male passenger became agitated, shouted racist slurs at airline staff, and waved a skateboard. Airline crew restrained the man twice, but he broke free both times.
Police reported no injuries, while the airline said one flight attendant and one passenger were evaluated for minor injuries. Upon landing, the man was taken into custody at the direction of the FBI and is being held at the Mesa County Detention Facility.
“This is an ongoing investigation and any further information and charges will be released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation,” police said in a statement.
Breeze Airways, which operates nonstop service to about 70 destinations, said its focus is on supporting crew and passengers affected by the incident and ensuring they reach their final destination as quickly as possible.
