Turkey’s AJet Expands Fleet with Boeing 737 Max 8 Deliveries

AJet has received two Boeing 737-8 aircraft from CDB Aviation, marking the first deliveries in a 12-aircraft lease agreement that will be completed by 2026. The addition of these new-generation jets represents a significant step in the airline’s long-term growth strategy and supports its ambitions in the highly competitive low-cost carrier market.
The Boeing 737-8 is known for its improved fuel efficiency and advanced technology compared to earlier models. The aircraft offers reduced operating costs, lower carbon emissions, and increased passenger comfort, all of which align with AJet’s commitment to sustainable and efficient operations. By incorporating these aircraft into its fleet, AJet aims to enhance route flexibility and optimize performance across both domestic and international markets.
AJet has outlined an ambitious expansion plan to grow its fleet to 200 aircraft by 2033, positioning itself as a leading player in the low-cost sector. The airline intends to leverage the fuel savings and operational advantages of the 737-8 to increase competitiveness against regional and global rivals while also expanding its network of destinations.
AJet, formerly branded as AnadoluJet until 31 March 2024, is a Turkish low-cost airline operating domestic flights as well as international flights to Northern Cyprus, Europe and Western Asia from its base at Sabiha Gökçen International Airport. It is a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines which previously operated it as a trademark before becoming an independent airline.
The partnership with CDB Aviation ensures a steady pipeline of aircraft deliveries through 2026, supporting AJet’s accelerated growth targets. With the arrival of its first Boeing 737 Max 8s, the carrier is now better equipped to meet rising passenger demand and deliver more affordable travel options, strengthening its position in the fast-growing low-cost airline market.
