Contour Airlines to Launch Caribbean Jet Flights

Contour Airlines, a division of Tennessee-based Contour Aviation, is expanding into the Caribbean with new nonstop services linking Dominica to Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The regional carrier announced it will begin flights on September 24 between St. Thomas Cyril E. King Airport and Dominica Melville Hall, operating three times per week. A day later, on September 25, Contour will launch a second route from San Juan Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport to Dominica, operating four times weekly.
The flights will be served by Contour’s fleet of 30-seat regional jets, providing the only nonstop jet connection between Dominica, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. This marks a significant development for Dominica, which has long faced challenges with limited direct international air connectivity.
According to ch-aviation data, Contour Airlines operates a diverse fleet that includes fifteen CRJ200s, one Challenger 800, one Citation Excel, ten Embraer ERJ135s, eight ERJ140s, three ERJ145s, one Falcon 2000, and one Legacy 600. The CRJ200s are expected to be deployed on the new Caribbean services.
The launch of these routes underscores Contour’s strategy of providing regional connectivity to underserved markets. For Dominica, the new flights will improve access for both leisure and business travelers, supporting tourism growth and stronger regional ties.
By offering the island’s only nonstop jet services to Puerto Rico and St. Thomas, Contour Airlines positions itself as a key player in improving Caribbean air links while expanding its own network footprint.
