Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas, the line’s third Icon Class ship, has reached a major milestone on its journey to debut. This week, the vessel celebrated its float-out ceremony at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland—marking the first time the ship has touched water and officially entering the next phase of construction.

Set to launch in August 2026, the Legend of the Seas will introduce a host of new attractions designed to elevate the cruise experience. Guests can look forward to eight distinct neighborhoods, the massive Category 6 waterpark, and the thrilling Crown’s Edge skywalk and ropes course, offering sweeping ocean views and adrenaline-pumping adventures.

When it debuts, the ship will sail a series of 7-night Western Mediterranean itineraries across Europe before repositioning to the Caribbean in November. There, it will offer 6-night Western Caribbean and 8-night Southern Caribbean cruises, bringing Royal Caribbean’s signature entertainment, dining, and innovation to both regions.

The Legend of the Seas will also be the fourth Royal Caribbean ship powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), underscoring the company’s commitment to more sustainable cruising. LNG fuel produces fewer emissions than traditional marine fuel, making this new Icon Class vessel one of the brand’s most eco-friendly yet.

With its float-out completed and outfitting underway, the Legend of the Seas is on track for its highly anticipated debut, promising guests an exciting blend of cutting-edge amenities and environmentally conscious design.
