Royal Caribbean Halts Labadee Visits Until 2026

Royal Caribbean International has announced it is suspending visits to its private destination at Labadee, Haiti until at least May 2026 due to ongoing violence and civil unrest in and around Port-au-Prince. The cruise line says the decision was made “out of an abundance of caution” to ensure guest and crew safety.
Labadee is one of Royal Caribbean’s most popular stops, offering five stretches of private beaches, a half-mile zip line, water slides, wave runners, private cabanas, and more—all secured by its own private security force. Guests who had booked excursions to the destination are being notified of changes to their itineraries.
According to Royal Caribbean, impacted cruises will substitute other ports such as Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos; Falmouth, Jamaica; Nassau, Bahamas; Perfect Day at CocoCay; Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; George Town, Grand Cayman; or Cozumel, Mexico. In some cases, itineraries may feature an additional sea day instead.
“We have been monitoring the evolving situation in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and out of an abundance of caution, we’re cancelling our visit to Labadee,” the company said in a notice to guests. “Your safety is our top priority.”
Royal Caribbean emphasized that the suspension will remain in place through at least May 2026, with a decision on future Labadee visits expected closer to that time. The move underscores the line’s commitment to prioritizing guest safety while maintaining a variety of alternative ports for its Caribbean itineraries.
