PAL Aerospace has secured a ten-year charter contract with Medavie Health NL Inc. to provide fixed-wing air ambulance services for Newfoundland and Labrador under the province’s Integrated Emergency Health Services program. The agreement, valued at CAD561.7 million (USD406 million), runs through March 31, 2035, and represents one of the largest air medical service deals in the region.

Under the contract, PAL Aerospace will station four Beechcraft King Air 350 aircraft in St. John’s and Goose Bay. Each aircraft will feature harmonized medical layouts, LifePort systems, large cargo doors, and standardized equipment stowage, designed to enhance efficiency and patient care during emergency flights. The King Air 350’s proven short-field performance will also allow access to remote airstrips across Newfoundland and Labrador.

Supporting the contract, PAL Aerospace subsidiary Air Borealis will provide two dedicated Twin Otter aircraft configured for scheduled evacuations and one Twin Otter equipped for medevac missions. These aircraft will be available to support daily scheduled medical flights from Monday to Friday, expanding the region’s critical-care air transport capacity.

The deal highlights PAL Aerospace’s growing role in Canada’s specialized aviation sector. The company operates a diverse fleet including Cessna Citation, Gulfstream G280, Bombardier Challenger, multiple DHC-8 variants, and a mix of King Air and Beech 1900D aircraft. Parent company PAL Airlines also maintains a significant turboprop fleet, while Air Borealis operates eleven DHC-6-300 Twin Otters. Together, these assets position the group as a key provider of emergency and regional air services across Canada’s challenging geographies.
