Flexjet Adds G700s to Meet Rising Demand for Large Jets

Flexjet is expanding its fractional ownership programme with the addition of the ultra-long-range Gulfstream G700, responding to growing demand for super-midsize and large jets from a younger client base. CEO Michael Silvestro said that over the past few years, the company has seen a surge in customers in their early to mid-40s, many of whom are bypassing light jets and opting directly for larger aircraft and longer journeys.
Flexjet officially welcomed the first G700 into its fleet on September 17, 2025, positioning the aircraft as a premium alternative for prospective owners eager to bypass the long manufacturer backlog. The G700 is the largest and longest-range aircraft in Flexjet’s portfolio and joins the operator’s existing Gulfstream types, including the G650 and G450. Flexjet placed an order for at least sixteen G700s in 2019 and currently has three on its US certificate.
Silvestro highlighted that while Flexjet continues to invest in its light jet fleet, including the Phenom 300E, the company’s strategy reflects a clear shift toward mid, super-mid, and heavy aircraft. About four-fifths of incoming G700s will be incremental additions rather than replacements, offering upgauge opportunities for existing owners.
Flexjet’s fractional ownership programme also includes Challenger 300s and 350s, Praetor 500s and 600s, and Sikorsky S-76 helicopters. Silvestro underscored that the company’s focus on luxury experiences, backed by an $800 million equity investment from LVMH, will continue to drive its fleet expansion, infrastructure projects, and global growth plans in key markets such as Europe and the Middle East.
