Cargo carrier 7 AIR (R7) is preparing for a major expansion as it looks to double its fleet next year. According to Carlos Cock, chief executive of parent company Xtreme Aviation, the airline plans to add four more Boeing 737-800 freighters in 2026, building on the arrival of its fourth aircraft, a 737-800(BCF).

In an interview with Aviation Week, Cock said the carrier intends to stick with a single aircraft type for the first two years. “That is our preferred aircraft, and I think for the first two years our plan is to remain with that one type of aircraft,” he explained. Currently, all of 7 AIR’s aircraft are leased, but the company is considering purchasing some of the incoming freighters as early as the third quarter of 2026.

ch-aviation data shows 7 AIR currently operates two Boeing 737-800(BCF)s and two Boeing 737-800(SF)s. The Miami-based carrier began scheduled cargo operations in April 2025 and expanded internationally in September, now flying to destinations including Guatemala City, Managua, San José, San Juan, and Antigua.

Xtreme Aviation Holding, the airline’s parent company, also owns a variety of aviation-related businesses, including an FAA-certified Part 145 repair station, leasing firm Aventus Air Leasing II, freight forwarder 7 Air Cargo LLC, and MRO providers K&J Aviation and AeroThrust MRO. The planned fleet growth at 7 AIR signals a push to capture more of the regional cargo market with a standardized, efficient fleet of converted Boeing 737-800 freighters.
