IHG’s Ruby Hotels Brand to Debut in the U.S.

IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced that its Ruby Hotels brand will make its first appearance in the United States. Founded in Germany in 2013, Ruby has grown into IHG’s 20th global brand with 34 open or pipeline properties across Europe, focusing on design-driven stays in major urban centers.
The U.S. launch will target new build, conversion, and adaptive reuse properties in city centers, appealing to style- and budget-conscious travelers. Rooms will feature cozy beds, rainfall showers, premium fixtures, and high-quality bath amenities. Public spaces will be designed with locally inspired interiors and 24/7 destination bars offering craft cocktails and barista coffee.
“Ruby is a brand built for the future of hospitality,” said Jolyon Bulley, CEO, Americas, IHG Hotels & Resorts. “Its success in Europe speaks to the demand for flexible, lifestyle-focused hotels in highly traveled locations. Bringing Ruby to the U.S. complements our premium portfolio with a differentiated product that has strong economics and scalable growth potential.”
Lauren Krostue, Vice President of Global Brand Management for Ruby, added that the brand connects with “individualists who value soulful, character-driven premium stays at an affordable price point.” She emphasized that Ruby’s signature design and operating model will remain intact while adapting elements for the U.S. market.
Ruby enters a fast-growing “urban micro” segment as IHG continues expanding globally. The company recently signed six new voco hotels in Mexico, underscoring its strategy to grow niche lifestyle brands alongside its established mainstream offerings.
