SWISS First Grand Suite: A Private Loft Above the Clouds

SWISS International Air Lines is redefining what First Class can mean at 35,000 feet. As part of its ambitious SWISS Senses cabin redesign, the airline will launch the SWISS First Grand Suite—a fully enclosed, multi-functional retreat designed to deliver privacy, space, and personalization far beyond today’s premium standards. The SWISS First Grand Suite will first be available on new Airbus A350-900s and gradually refurbished Airbus A330-300s starting in early 2026, with plans to add the Grand Suite to Boeing 777-300ERs at a later time.

A Private Loft Aloft for the Ultimate First Class Experience

SWISS International Air Lines is redefining premium air travel with the launch of its First Grand Suite, a fully enclosed sanctuary designed to take privacy, space, and personalization to unprecedented heights. Debuting in early 2026, the Grand Suite marks a bold evolution of the SWISS Senses cabin concept and positions the carrier at the forefront of global First Class innovation.

Rather than simply offering a larger seat, the Grand Suite merges the window-side Single Suite and the central Suite Plus into one expansive area—what SWISS calls a “loft aloft.” With walls reaching nearly 1.8 meters (almost six feet), it transforms First Class into a private apartment in the sky. Passengers can seamlessly use the space as a bedroom, a personal dining room, or a work area, moving effortlessly between functions throughout a long-haul journey.

This new configuration allows two adjoining First Class suites, including the aisle, to be combined into a single, exclusively secluded zone—ideal for couples traveling together, families seeking more room, or business travelers needing discretion. Whether it’s a workplace, a restaurant, or a bedroom, the Grand Suite enables its occupants to fly free and undisturbed within their own exclusive space while still enjoying SWISS’s renowned First Class service, tailored even more precisely to each guest’s personal rhythm.

“With our new SWISS First Grand Suite, we’re expanding our First Class service for top-tier customers who want even more privacy and more freedom to design their personal space on board,” says Chief Commercial Officer Heike Birlenbach. “Our Grand Suite gives guests the feeling of having their own ‘loft aloft’—a space they can use as they wish to relax, work, or simply enjoy the experience. It’s a further step in developing our SWISS Senses concept, which aims to deliver a truly premium air travel experience.”

Inside, the Grand Suite reflects all the hallmarks of SWISS Senses: soft ambient lighting, high-speed connectivity, bespoke bedding, and curated menus. Flyers can sleep in a fully flat bed cocooned in silence, work at an ergonomically designed desk with high-speed internet, and dine on restaurant-quality meals served in total privacy. The entire experience is designed to engage the senses and adapt to each traveler’s rhythm, whether crossing continents for business or leisure.

Strategically, the Grand Suite is more than a luxury upgrade. By introducing such an exclusive product, SWISS is signaling its intent to compete at the very top end of premium travel, appealing to discerning individuals and couples as well as high-profile passengers who demand maximum privacy. The launch of the Grand Suite reflects a new benchmark for First Class travel—a high-altitude sanctuary where passengers are no longer just travelers, but architects of their own journey.
