Aqua Lares to Sail Arctic and East Africa

Aqua Expeditions has announced that its newest vessel, Aqua Lares, will explore both East Africa and the Arctic, expanding the company’s global luxury expedition portfolio. The 253-foot Ice Class 1B-rated superyacht will debut in February 2026 as Aqua’s sixth ship.
With just 15 staterooms accommodating up to 30 guests, Aqua Lares is designed for intimate exploration. The ship will initially sail five- to 11-night itineraries in the Seychelles, with select voyages to Aldabra Atoll and Zanzibar. Guests can expect wildlife-rich experiences, including encounters with Aldabra’s giant tortoises, complemented by itineraries that align with Aqua’s existing programs in the Galápagos and Indonesia.
Aqua Lares features spacious accommodations ranging from 140 to 710 square feet, a 33-member crew with three naturalist guides, and luxury amenities such as a panoramic sun deck, cinema, gym, spa, and multiple dining venues. Outdoor activities will be supported by five private tenders, along with kayaks, paddle boards, snorkeling and diving gear, and mountain bikes.
Each year from November to April, the yacht will sail the Seychelles, Aldabra, and Zanzibar, with rates starting at $9,000 per guest for a five-night voyage. Private charters for up to 30 guests begin at $385,000.
Starting in June 2026, Aqua Lares will reposition to Svalbard and the Arctic Circle, operating summer expeditions through September with five- to 14-night sailings. Founder Francesco Galli Zugaro emphasized that the ship will combine exclusivity, personalized service, and unparalleled access in both East Africa and the Arctic, offering guests a new standard of global expedition cruising.
