Ryanair Flight Diverts After Passenger Fight

A Ryanair flight from London to Alicante was forced to divert to Toulouse, France, on September 26 after a group of unruly passengers allegedly became aggressive on board. Witnesses described the travelers as “loud and rude,” claiming they had been drinking heavily before departure and even smuggled alcohol onto the aircraft.
According to flight tracking data, Ryanair flight FR8425 departed from London Luton Airport bound for Alicante but changed course midair when a fight broke out between the disruptive group and another passenger who confronted them. Flight attendants alerted authorities, and French police were called to meet the plane upon landing.
Video footage taken by a passenger shows officers from the National Gendarmerie boarding the aircraft, where they were directed to the rowdy group. Several passengers left their seats voluntarily, but one man resisted, climbing onto his seat, shouting, and lunging into the aisle before being restrained. Other passengers can be heard clapping and cheering as the men were escorted off.
Witnesses said the group had been swearing, spilling drinks, and causing disturbances that affected nearby travelers, including a group of women whose laptop was damaged. The incident delayed the flight, which eventually continued to Alicante, arriving later that evening.
Ryanair confirmed the diversion in a statement, citing its strict “zero tolerance” policy toward passenger misconduct. The airline said it will continue to take strong action to protect the safety and comfort of both passengers and crew, ensuring flights remain free of unnecessary disruption.
