American Airlines is adding special nonstop flights between Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) and San Jose Mineta International Airport (SJC) to accommodate travelers heading to Super Bowl LX. The additional service will operate from February 5 to 9, offering fans—especially Carolina Panthers supporters—a convenient way to reach the Bay Area for the championship game at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Roundtrip fares for the temporary route start at approximately $1,120 in the main cabin, reflecting strong demand around one of the biggest sporting events of the year. The limited-time flights are expected to sell quickly, as Super Bowl weekend traditionally brings a surge in air travel to the host region.

In addition to the Charlotte–San Jose service, American Airlines is increasing flight options from several other cities to San Jose to support Super Bowl traffic. These adjustments are part of the carrier’s broader seasonal expansion, which includes new or extended routes to popular leisure destinations such as Albuquerque, Vail, Aspen, Palm Springs, and Vero Beach.

American Airlines said the temporary route aligns with its strategy to adapt to passenger demand around major events while maintaining flexibility in its network planning. Charlotte, one of American’s largest hubs, serves as a key connection point for travelers across the eastern United States, making it an ideal launch city for Super Bowl-bound flights.

By adding this nonstop link, American aims to make travel to the Bay Area more seamless for fans and visitors alike. The new service underscores the airline’s continued focus on delivering event-specific connectivity and enhancing its schedule to meet customer needs during high-demand travel periods.
