Airbus Delivers 507 Aircraft in First Nine Months of 2025

Airbus has delivered 507 commercial aircraft in the first nine months of 2025, keeping pace with its target of approximately 820 deliveries for the full year despite what it described as a “complex and dynamic” operating environment.
The European aircraft manufacturer reported consolidated revenues of €47.4 billion and an adjusted EBIT of €4.1 billion for the period ending September 30, 2025. Reported EBIT stood at €3.4 billion, while earnings per share reached €3.34. Free cash flow before customer financing was negative at €0.9 billion, reflecting the backloaded delivery schedule.
“Our nine-month results reflect the level of commercial aircraft deliveries and a solid performance in the Defense and Space and Helicopters businesses,” said Guillaume Faury, CEO of Airbus. “Deliveries remain backloaded amid a complex and dynamic operating environment.”
Airbus’ commercial aircraft division generated €33.9 billion in revenue, up 3% year-on-year, driven by increased deliveries and stronger aftermarket services. Airbus Helicopters reported a 16% revenue jump to €5.7 billion, with 218 helicopters delivered—up from 190 a year earlier. The Defense and Space division also performed strongly, with revenue up 17% to €8.9 billion.
As of the end of September 2025, Airbus has delivered 507 aircraft for the year:
| Aircraft Type | Deliveries (Year To Date Sep. 2025) |
|---|---|
| A220 | 62 |
| A320 Family | 392 |
| A330 Family | 20 |
| A350 Family | 33 |
Order intake slowed slightly compared to 2024, with 610 gross and 514 net commercial aircraft orders, versus 667 and 648 in the prior year. Airbus’ commercial backlog remained robust at 8,665 aircraft as of September 2025. The Helicopters division recorded 306 net orders, while Defense and Space secured €6.8 billion in new contracts, down from €11 billion in the same period last year.
As of the end of September 2025, Airbus had 610 gross orders for the year:
| Aircraft Type | Gross Orders (Year To Date Sep. 2025) |
|---|---|
| A320neo Family | 411 |
| A350 Family | 109 |
| A330 Family | 90 |
Production ramp-ups remain central to Airbus’ growth strategy. The A320 family is on track to reach a rate of 75 aircraft per month by 2027, while the A220 program’s output goal has been adjusted to 12 per month by December 2026. The A330 program is stabilizing at four aircraft per month with a target of five by 2029, and the A350 program aims for 12 per month by 2028.
Looking ahead, Airbus expects to deliver around 820 commercial aircraft in 2025, with an adjusted EBIT of about €7 billion and free cash flow before customer financing of approximately €4.5 billion—assuming no further global or supply chain disruptions. (One € equals US$1.15)
