Royal Caribbean Begins Building Seventh Oasis Class Ship

Royal Caribbean International has officially started construction on its seventh Oasis Class cruise ship, marking the next evolution of the world’s most iconic cruise ship series. The milestone was celebrated on October 23 with a steel-cutting ceremony at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.
The new vessel, which has not yet been named, is scheduled to enter service in 2028. The ceremony was attended by executives from Royal Caribbean and Chantiers de l’Atlantique, along with naval architects, engineers, and designers who will bring the massive project to life.
“From the original Oasis of the Seas to the ultimate short getaway on Utopia of the Seas, the evolution continues for the record-setting Oasis Class,” Royal Caribbean said in a statement. “The seventh ship in the lineup will deliver new experiences across adventure, dining, entertainment, and relaxation—details to be revealed soon.”
Oasis Class ships are among the largest in the world, ranging between 225,000 and 236,000 gross tons. The class began with Oasis of the Seas in 2009, followed by Allure of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas, Symphony of the Seas, Wonder of the Seas, and most recently Utopia of the Seas, which debuted in summer 2024.
The new ship will continue Royal Caribbean’s tradition of innovation, combining family-friendly activities, immersive entertainment, and next-generation sustainability features designed to redefine the modern cruise experience.
