LOT Polish Airlines Wet-Leases A320 for Tel Aviv Flights

LOT Polish Airlines (LO, Warsaw Chopin) has begun wet-leasing an Airbus A320-200 from Electra Airways (3E, Sofia) for its Warsaw–Tel Aviv route, starting with the winter 2025/2026 schedule, according to ch-aviation.

A LOT spokesperson confirmed the partnership, stating that Electra Airways is providing an ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) lease for an A320 based in Tel Aviv, operating daily round trips between Warsaw and Tel Aviv.

The 19-year-old A320-200, registered LZ-EAH (msn 2930), was ferried from Varna to Tel Aviv on October 25 and began commercial operations for LOT the next day. The aircraft, configured in an all-economy 180-seat layout and powered by CFM56 engines, previously flew for Air Arabia, Rossiya, Interjet, and Ultra Air. It is owned by Genesis Aircraft Services.

The agreement with Electra Airways is expected to continue through the 2026 summer season. The deal follows LOT’s decision to end its earlier wet-lease arrangement with Hello Jets in May, which had operated the same route using a 189-seat Boeing 737-800. The current lease represents a slight reduction in capacity but ensures continuity on the Warsaw–Tel Aviv route.

LOT resumed its Tel Aviv operations shortly after the 2024 Israel–Lebanon ceasefire, becoming one of the first European carriers to return to the market. However, the airline has faced periodic disruptions due to regional security concerns.

LOT’s in-house narrowbody fleet consists entirely of Boeing aircraft, including eighteen B737-8s and six B737-800s. The Electra Airways A320 is currently its only active wet-leased narrowbody, although LOT plans to add a wet-leased Boeing 777-200ER from Privilege Style later in November.
