A Beijing court has ordered Malaysia Airlines to compensate several families of passengers who were onboard missing flight MH370, ruling that the carrier must pay more than 2.9 million yuan ($410,240) per case, according to state broadcaster CCTV. The judgments apply to eight cases involving eight passengers. ($1 = 7.0690 Chinese yuan renminbi)

CCTV reported that an additional 47 cases linked to the disappearance have already been settled and withdrawn, while 23 others remain under trial. The compensation orders come more than a decade after MH370 vanished in March 2014 during a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, leaving families without closure and prompting one of the largest aviation searches in history.

Malaysia Airlines did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment on the ruling.
