LATAM Brazil Lures Embraer E2 Pilots With Major Signing Bonuses

LATAM Airlines Brazil is launching an aggressive recruitment campaign as it prepares for the arrival of its new Embraer E195-E2 fleet, offering some of the country’s largest signing bonuses to attract experienced, type-rated pilots. The hiring initiative targets captains and first officers with Embraer E-Jet E2 qualifications, aiming to secure crews well ahead of the aircraft’s scheduled delivery in late 2026.
The airline is offering a one-time signing bonus of R$160,000 for captains and R$80,000 for first officers. Onboarding begins in February 2026, while the first E195-E2 deliveries are expected in the fourth quarter of the year. Applications opened on December 15, 2025 and will remain available through January 4, 2026 via LATAM’s careers portal.
LATAM’s strategy focuses on attracting pilots from Azul and Placar, the two Brazilian carriers currently operating E-Jet E2 aircraft. By offering a higher salary floor and substantial upfront compensation, LATAM aims to ensure a smooth and rapid integration of these aircraft into its fleet.
According to Aeroin, the high-stakes recruitment campaign reflects intense activity in Brazil’s pilot labor market. The airline is seeking crews who already hold a valid Embraer E1/E2 type rating with experience in the last three years. Captains must meet stringent requirements, including at least 5,000 total flight hours under RBAC 121 operations, 3,000 hours in jet aircraft, and 500 hours as pilot-in-command on aircraft similar to or larger than the E2. First officers must have a minimum of 500 flight hours along with Commercial Pilot, instrument, and multi-engine ratings.
Jerome Cadier, CEO of LATAM Brazil, said the new vacancies reinforce the airline’s position as an employer of choice. He emphasized that the investment in the E2 program expands opportunities for pilots seeking long-term, stable careers with a leading airline committed to sustainable growth.
The recruitment effort accompanies LATAM Brazil’s broader expansion strategy. The company has increased its workforce by 20 percent since 2023 and plans to operate in 63 Brazilian airports by 2026, strengthening its domestic connectivity and international operations.
Interested candidates who meet the technical criteria and documentation requirements, including a first-class CMA and a valid Brazilian passport, can apply through LATAM’s official careers portal.
