Boeing Wins $8.6B Pentagon Deal to Supply Israel With F-15 Jets

Boeing has secured an $8.6 billion contract from the United States government to supply Israel with 25 new F-15IA fighter jets, with an option for 25 additional aircraft in the future. The deal significantly expands Israel’s air combat capabilities and reinforces Boeing’s role as a key supplier of advanced military aircraft.

The contract was announced on December 29, 2025, by the U.S. Department of Defense, following high-level discussions between U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Mar-a-Lago in Florida.

“This contract provides for the design, integration, instrumentation, test, production, and delivery of 25 new F-15IA aircraft for the Israeli Air Force with an option for an additional 25 F-15IA aircraft,” the Pentagon said in its announcement. The work will be carried out under the broader F-15 Israel Program, with aircraft production taking place at Boeing’s facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Contract completion is scheduled for December 31, 2035.

The agreement closely mirrors a previous order placed by Israel’s Ministry of Defense in November 2024, valued at $5.2 billion and funded through U.S. military assistance. That earlier deal also covered 25 aircraft with an option for 25 more, underscoring Israel’s long-term commitment to the F-15 platform as a cornerstone of its air force.

The F-15IA is Israel’s customized designation for the F-15EX Eagle II, the latest evolution of Boeing’s long-serving air superiority fighter. The aircraft is powered by General Electric F110-GE-129 engines and features a fully digital cockpit, advanced radar, modern electronic warfare systems, and enhanced connectivity designed to operate seamlessly alongside Israel’s fleet of F-35 stealth fighters.

One of the jet’s standout capabilities is its payload capacity. The F-15IA can carry up to 24 air-to-air missiles, making it one of the most heavily armed fighter aircraft in service. This allows it to perform air dominance, long-range strike, and homeland defense missions with exceptional flexibility.

With the latest Pentagon contract combined with the 2024 agreement, Israel is set to field up to 50 F-15IA aircraft. These will complement the 66 F-15 variants already operated by the Israeli Air Force, further strengthening its regional deterrence posture.

The deal highlights continued U.S.-Israeli defense cooperation and ensures a long production runway for Boeing’s F-15 program well into the next decade.
