Airports Council International World has appointed Jost Lammers, Chief Executive Officer of Munich Airport, as Chair of the ACI World Governing Board for the 2026–2027 term. The appointment marks a leadership transition at a time when airports worldwide are navigating capacity growth, sustainability mandates, and evolving security and passenger-experience expectations.

Lammers succeeds Candace McGraw, the retired CEO of Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, who concludes her term after making history as ACI World’s first woman Chair. During her tenure, McGraw guided the organization through a period of heightened global advocacy, strengthening airports’ collective voice on issues ranging from infrastructure investment and regulatory alignment to post-pandemic recovery and resilience.

In welcoming Lammers, ACI World highlighted his extensive international experience and his leadership at one of Europe’s busiest hub airports. As CEO of Munich Airport, Lammers has overseen operations recognized for efficiency, service quality, and innovation, while advancing initiatives in digitalization and environmental performance. His background is expected to support ACI World’s priorities as airports balance traffic growth with decarbonization goals and tighter regulatory scrutiny.

As Chair, Lammers will work closely with ACI World’s leadership and regional councils to advance policy advocacy on behalf of airports across all regions. Key focus areas are expected to include sustainable aviation infrastructure, passenger facilitation, workforce development, and strengthening airport-airline collaboration amid shifting demand patterns. The Governing Board plays a central role in setting strategic direction and ensuring that ACI World’s policy positions reflect the needs of a diverse global membership.

Outgoing Chair Candace McGraw was credited with steering ACI World through complex industry challenges while elevating collaboration with governments and international bodies. Her leadership coincided with renewed emphasis on operational resilience, safety, and the economic role of airports as drivers of regional development.

ACI World officials said the transition underscores continuity and momentum. With Lammers at the helm for the 2026–2027 term, the organization aims to build on recent gains in global advocacy while helping airports adapt to accelerating technological change and sustainability expectations.

The appointment takes effect for the upcoming term, positioning ACI World to continue representing the interests of airports worldwide as the industry enters a new phase of growth and transformation.
