Immfly, Gogo and Eutelsat Team Up on LEO IFC for LCCs

Immfly has announced a new collaboration with Gogo and Eutelsat to deliver a low Earth orbit (LEO) in-flight connectivity solution tailored specifically for low-cost and ultra-low-cost carriers. The jointly developed system is designed to address one of the most persistent gaps in commercial aviation: the lack of reliable, affordable broadband connectivity across narrowbody aircraft fleets.

The new solution combines Gogo’s electronically steered antenna and network infrastructure with Eutelsat’s OneWeb LEO connectivity services and Immfly’s onboard digital platform. Together, the partners aim to deliver enterprise-grade reliability, low latency and high-speed performance, while maintaining the low installation and operating costs that LCCs and ULCCs require to make onboard connectivity economically viable.

At the core of the system is Gogo’s next-generation Plane Simple electronically steered antenna, paired with OneWeb’s global LEO satellite constellation and Immfly’s Equilux Aero modular, hardware-agnostic onboard server. According to Immfly, the solution is lightweight, cost-effective and designed for rapid deployment, with full aircraft installation achievable in approximately 24 to 30 hours. This fast turnaround is intended to minimize aircraft downtime, a critical consideration for high-utilization narrowbody fleets.

The initial focus is on narrowbody aircraft and regional jets that currently operate without onboard connectivity, a segment that still represents a large portion of the global LCC and ULCC fleet. The partners plan to launch the service in 2026, with Immfly already accepting requests from airlines interested in participating in pilot programmes ahead of commercial entry into service.

Immfly executive chairman and co-founder Jimmy M. von Korff described the initiative as a milestone for the low-cost sector, noting that many narrowbody aircraft remain disconnected despite growing passenger expectations for always-on digital services. By combining LEO connectivity with electronically steered antenna technology, the partners aim to unlock new ancillary revenue opportunities, improve operational efficiency, and offer passengers an online experience closer to what they expect on the ground.

Eutelsat also emphasized the broader market impact of the collaboration, positioning OneWeb’s LEO network as a way to bring high-speed, low-latency connectivity to fleets that have historically been underserved by traditional inflight broadband solutions. As LCCs and ULCCs continue to expand globally, the partners see scalable, cost-conscious connectivity as a key differentiator in the next phase of passenger experience evolution.
