Bombardier Global 8000 Receives EASA Type Certification

Bombardier has secured European Union Aviation Safety Agency type certification for its flagship ultra-long-range business jet, the Global 8000, marking another major regulatory milestone for the programme and clearing the aircraft for commercial operations across Europe. The approval further strengthens Bombardier’s position in the top end of the business aviation market, where range, speed and cabin comfort are increasingly decisive factors for operators and owners.

The certification from European Union Aviation Safety Agency follows the Global 8000’s entry into service in December 2025. The aircraft entered active operations under the management of Chartright Air after Bombardier received type certification from Transport Canada in November, followed by approval from the Federal Aviation Administration the next month. With certification now secured from all three major authorities, the Global 8000 is cleared for operations in North America and Europe, opening the door to broader international deployment.

The Global 8000 is positioned as the world’s fastest and longest-range purpose-built business jet, offering a range of up to 8,000 nautical miles and a top speed of Mach 0.94. The aircraft is designed to connect city pairs such as Dubai to Houston, Singapore to Los Angeles, or London to Perth, while maintaining the ability to access shorter runways typically unavailable to large-cabin competitors. This combination of range, speed and operational flexibility is a core part of Bombardier’s strategy to differentiate the Global family in a competitive market.

Inside the cabin, the Global 8000 builds on Bombardier’s long-standing focus on passenger comfort and productivity. The aircraft features four distinct living spaces, a dedicated crew rest area, and advanced sound-dampening technology aimed at delivering one of the quietest cabins in business aviation. High-speed connectivity, customizable cabin layouts and Bombardier’s latest cabin management systems are intended to support both corporate and private owners on long-duration missions.

From a market perspective, EASA certification is particularly significant, as Europe remains one of the largest and most influential regions for large-cabin business jet operations. The approval allows European operators to place the Global 8000 into service without additional validation hurdles, supporting charter, corporate flight department and private ownership use cases.

For Bombardier, the certification milestone reinforces momentum behind the Global 8000 programme following its entry into service and early customer deliveries. As global demand for ultra-long-range business jets continues to grow, the company is positioning the Global 8000 as a flagship platform capable of meeting the evolving expectations of high-end business aviation customers worldwide.
