Royal Caribbean has been named the Official Miami Host City Supporter for the FIFA World Cup 2026, marking a major partnership as the global tournament prepares to arrive in the United States, Canada, and Mexico next summer. The agreement positions Royal Caribbean as a key contributor to Miami’s fan experience during one of the largest sporting events in the world.

As part of the sponsorship, Royal Caribbean will play an active role in fan engagement across Miami. Plans include hosting an interactive fan zone at the FIFA Fan Festival Miami in Bayfront Park, offering behind-the-scenes stadium tours, and providing live entertainment at festival events. These activations are designed to bring fans together as they watch matches, connect with players, and celebrate the tournament with friends and family.

Jason Liberty, chairman and chief executive officer of Royal Caribbean Group, said the partnership reflects the company’s deep roots in Miami and its long-standing connection to the city’s global energy. He noted that with the World Cup creating a once-in-a-generation surge of excitement across South Florida, Royal Caribbean aims to bring its signature innovation and hospitality to help welcome visitors from around the world and create experiences that leave a lasting impact on the community beyond the tournament itself.

Momentum around the 2026 World Cup has already translated into strong travel demand. The official match schedule was released on December 5, triggering a surge in bookings across North and South America. According to industry data, host cities such as Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta, and Kansas City experienced sharp increases in accommodation searches and reservations in the weeks following the announcement.

New data from Airbnb shows that Gen Z travelers and families are leading the early wave of bookings, signaling broad interest across age groups and travel segments. Miami, with its international air connectivity, vibrant cultural scene, and coastal setting, is expected to be one of the tournament’s most sought-after host destinations.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 will kick off on June 11, 2026, and will be the largest edition of the tournament to date, featuring 48 national teams competing across multiple host cities. The championship match is scheduled to take place on July 19, 2026, just outside New York City.

For Royal Caribbean, the Miami host city sponsorship aligns with its identity as a global vacation brand headquartered in South Florida. By integrating cruise hospitality with one of the world’s most-watched sporting events, the company is positioning itself at the center of the World Cup experience while reinforcing Miami’s role as a gateway for international fans arriving for the tournament.
