Lufthansa Opens 787 Allegris Business Bookings

Lufthansa’s new Allegris Business Class seats on the Boeing 787-9 are now available for booking, marking another milestone in the airline’s long-haul cabin transformation program.
Introduced in summer 2024, Allegris represents a fully redesigned cabin concept across all travel classes. The product has been operating from Munich on the Airbus A350-900 for more than 18 months. Since October 2025, the Allegris cabin has also been flying from Frankfurt aboard Lufthansa’s new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.
Following key certification progress in recent weeks, Lufthansa has cleared 25 of the 28 Business Class seats on the Boeing 787-9 for sale, with travel available from April 15. Three seats in the second row of the Business Class cabin remain pending final approval.
Passengers booking Allegris Business Class can select from several seat categories. Classic Seats remain free of charge and offer the full range of new Business Class benefits. Travelers seeking additional comfort can reserve premium options for an extra fee, including the Business Class Suite, the Extra Space Seat with increased legroom, the Privacy Seat by the window and the Extra Long Bed featuring a 2.20-meter sleeping surface.
From Frankfurt, the Boeing 787-9 equipped with Allegris will serve Austin, Rio de Janeiro, Bogotá, Cape Town, Shanghai, Hyderabad and Hong Kong at the start of the summer schedule. New York JFK and Los Angeles will be added in June, followed by Delhi in July, expanding Lufthansa’s premium long-haul network from its main hub.
Lufthansa Airlines CEO Jens Ritter said customer feedback on Allegris has been strong, with more than one million passengers having experienced the new cabin since its launch. The expansion of Allegris Business Class availability on the Boeing 787-9 is expected to increase access to the upgraded product for travelers departing Frankfurt.
Since October 9, 2025, Allegris-equipped Dreamliners have been operating from Frankfurt. Eight new Boeing 787-9 aircraft are already based there, with 21 additional aircraft on order. Lufthansa plans to operate a total of 29 Boeing 787-9s by the end of 2027, further accelerating its fleet modernization and premium cabin rollout strategy.
