Airbus Targets Record 870 Aircraft Deliveries in 2026

Airbus is aiming to deliver a record number of commercial aircraft in 2026, buoyed by strong global demand and a sharp rise in annual profit.
The European planemaker said it is targeting around 870 commercial aircraft deliveries this year, surpassing recent output levels as airlines continue to modernize fleets and expand capacity. The upbeat outlook follows what the company described as a landmark performance in 2025.
Airbus reported 1,000 gross commercial aircraft orders last year, with net orders totaling 889 after cancellations. The manufacturer delivered 793 aircraft in 2025, reflecting steady progress despite ongoing supply chain constraints. Overall profit rose 23 percent to €5.2 billion ($6.1 billion), underscoring improved operational performance and robust customer demand.
Chief Executive Guillaume Faury said 2025 was characterized by very strong demand across all business segments, highlighting continued momentum in both narrowbody and widebody programs. Aircraft such as the A321neo and A350 family remain central to airline fleet renewal strategies as carriers prioritize fuel efficiency and lower emissions.
2025: 793 aircraft delivered, up from 766 in 2024.
2024: 766 aircraft delivered.
2023: 735 aircraft delivered.
In its guidance, Airbus noted that its 2026 delivery target assumes no additional disruptions to global trade, air traffic, supply chains or internal operations. The company, like its U.S. rival Boeing, has been working to restore production rates following pandemic-related slowdowns and supplier bottlenecks that constrained output across the industry.
Airlines worldwide are placing orders to prepare for long-term passenger growth, particularly in fast-expanding markets across Asia and the Middle East. The push for more fuel-efficient jets also reflects tightening environmental regulations and rising operating costs.
While supply chain stability remains a critical variable, Airbus’s ambitious 2026 target signals confidence that manufacturing capacity and supplier performance will continue to improve, positioning the company for a potential record year in commercial aircraft deliveries.
