Abra Group will incorporate seven Airbus A330-900 widebody aircraft into its fleet between 2026 and 2027, strengthening its long-haul network across the Americas and key intercontinental markets.

The UK-based aviation holding company confirmed the aircraft will be progressively introduced as part of its strategy to enhance international connectivity and upgrade the passenger experience. In the initial phase, up to five of the A330-900s will be operated by GOL Linhas Aéreas to support its international expansion, while two will be deployed by Avianca to drive regional and long-haul growth.

The aircraft will serve strategic routes within South America and connect the region to Europe and North America. Wamos Air, part of the Abra portfolio, will support fleet integration and operational ramp-up, particularly as GOL expands its international footprint.

Configured with more than 290 seats, the Airbus A330-900 will include a dedicated Business Class cabin designed to elevate onboard comfort and service standards. Some aircraft will also feature adapted lavatories to accommodate passengers with reduced mobility, reinforcing the Group’s commitment to inclusive travel.

Flight crews will undergo comprehensive training ahead of entry into service to ensure operational readiness, safety compliance and consistent customer service standards across the network.

Adrián Neuhauser, CEO of Abra Group, said the addition of the A330-900 marks a significant milestone for the company, enhancing long-haul capabilities while improving accessibility and passenger comfort. He emphasized the Group’s ambition to build a stronger air transport network connecting the Americas with global markets.

Abra Group consolidates the GOL and Avianca brands under a unified leadership structure and maintains a strategic investment in Wamos Air. The Group also holds convertible debt representing a minority interest in Sky Airline Chile. Across its portfolio, Abra oversees more than 300 aircraft and operates flights to over 150 destinations in more than 25 countries.

For GOL, which operates a standardized Boeing 737 fleet within Brazil and select international routes, the introduction of widebody Airbus A330-900 aircraft signals a notable shift toward long-haul growth. Avianca, one of the world’s oldest airlines, already operates widebody aircraft including the Boeing 787 and will use the A330-900 to further optimize network flexibility and capacity.

The fleet expansion positions Abra Group to compete more aggressively in long-haul markets while strengthening connectivity throughout Latin America.
