PSA Airlines Opens New Charlotte HQ, Completes Move

PSA Airlines has officially inaugurated its new corporate headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, completing its relocation from Dayton, Ohio, and marking a significant milestone in the regional carrier’s operational strategy.
The new headquarters opened on March 19, 2026, following an initial phase that welcomed more than 450 employees to the facility in early January. With the move, PSA becomes the only Part 121 passenger airline headquartered in North Carolina, strengthening its presence in one of the country’s key aviation markets.
Relocating to Charlotte places PSA closer to its parent company, American Airlines, and its major hub at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The proximity is expected to enhance coordination and operational efficiency, particularly as PSA plays a critical role in feeding traffic into American’s network.
The consolidation of the airline’s management, support staff, and operational teams—including its Integrated Operations Centre—into a single location is already delivering benefits. Chief Operating Officer Chris McCartney said the centralized structure has improved reliability and helped optimize overall operations, enabling faster decision-making and more streamlined communication.
PSA offered all affected employees in Dayton the opportunity to relocate to Charlotte as part of the transition. Approximately 40% of eligible staff chose to make the move, exceeding the company’s expectations by a significant margin. The airline described the response as a strong indication of employee commitment and confidence in the company’s long-term direction.
The regional carrier operates a fleet of around 150 aircraft, consisting of 60 Bombardier CRJ700s and 90 CRJ900s. These aircraft support a broad network of short- and medium-haul routes, primarily serving as feeder services for American Airlines.
Industry observers view the relocation as part of a broader trend among regional airlines to align more closely with their major airline partners. By positioning its headquarters near a primary hub, PSA can better integrate its operations with those of its parent company, improving efficiency and responsiveness across the network.
The opening of the Charlotte headquarters underscores PSA Airlines’ commitment to growth and operational excellence, as it continues to evolve within the highly competitive U.S. regional aviation sector.
