Norwegian Luna Debuts With New Design, Dining and Thrills

Norwegian Cruise Line has unveiled its newest ship, Norwegian Luna, offering a refined guest experience with enhanced design, dining, and entertainment as it begins sailings from Miami.

Carrying 3,565 passengers, Norwegian Luna is the 21st vessel in the fleet and the second ship in the Prima Plus Class, following sister ship Norwegian Aqua. At 1,056 feet and 156,000 gross tons, both ships are around 10% larger than the earlier Prima Class vessels, delivering more space and upgraded amenities.

Executives say the ship builds on guest feedback, introducing practical improvements alongside new experiences. These include expanded buffet seating, additional staircases for easier navigation, upgraded gaming technology in the Luna Midway, and the introduction of Horizon Park, a new open-air social space designed for relaxation and recreation.

The ship also features a distinct lunar-inspired design theme. A striking hull artwork titled “La Luna,” created by street artist ELLE, sets the tone, with celestial colors and motifs carried throughout staterooms and public areas, creating a premium and immersive onboard atmosphere.

Norwegian Luna offers 1,809 staterooms across multiple categories, from solo studios to family balcony suites. At the top end, The Haven by Norwegian provides a luxury “ship-within-a-ship” experience, with private suites, butler and concierge service, an exclusive lounge and bar, and a dedicated sundeck with an infinity pool. This flexible accommodation model is designed to appeal to multigenerational families seeking both shared and private spaces.

Dining is a central highlight, with 17 venues offering 15 cuisines and 18 bars and lounges onboard. The Indulge Food Hall features nine made-to-order stations, while specialty restaurants include Japanese cuisine at Hasuki, Mexican dishes at Los Lobos, French dining at Le Bistro, and Thai flavors at Sukhothai. Signature venue Palomar delivers a Mediterranean seafood-focused experience with interactive table service.

Entertainment and activities cater to a wide range of travelers. Thrill-seekers can ride the Aqua Slidecoaster, while others can enjoy the Luna Midway, Glow Court, or the new Moon Climber obstacle course. For relaxation, guests can visit the adults-only Vibe Beach Club or the Mandara Spa, which features thermal suites and wellness facilities.

Evening entertainment includes new productions such as a tribute to Elton John, alongside immersive multimedia and concert-style shows developed at Norwegian’s creative studios.

Norwegian Luna will operate Bahamas and Caribbean itineraries from Miami, with frequent calls to Great Stirrup Cay, the cruise line’s private island currently undergoing a major expansion. The ship is also scheduled to debut in New York in 2027, offering Bermuda voyages.

With its combination of scale, innovation, and premium positioning, Norwegian Luna reflects Norwegian Cruise Line’s continued investment in next-generation cruise experiences.
