Starlux Airlines has placed a firm order for 10 additional Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, reinforcing its long-haul ambitions as announced at the Paris Air Show 2025. This latest commitment increases the Taiwanese carrier’s total A350-1000 order to 18 jets, signaling a strategic push into ultra-long-haul markets.

Deliveries of the newly ordered aircraft are scheduled to begin in 2031 and will support Starlux’s expanding intercontinental network, including its new route to Phoenix, Arizona. The move is a key part of the airline’s global expansion plan, which may soon include its first destination in Europe by 2026.

“This marks a significant milestone in strengthening our global presence and connectivity across key markets,” said Glenn Chai, CEO of Starlux Airlines. “With Airbus’s ongoing support, Starlux will continue to offer excellent passenger experience.”

Starlux operates a modern all-Airbus fleet, consisting of 13 A321neo, five A330-900neo, and eight A350-900 jets. Its outstanding orders include six more A321neos, three A330-900neos, two A350-900s, and now 18 A350-1000s, with the first A350-1000 expected to enter service by the end of 2025.

On the cargo side, Starlux has also committed to 10 A350F freighters, including a second batch of five confirmed in early 2025. The airline aims to leverage Airbus’s fuel-efficient, long-range aircraft to scale its premium passenger and cargo operations globally.

With a growing long-haul fleet and expansion into Europe on the horizon, Starlux is positioning itself as a major international player in Asia’s premium airline segment.
