A4A joins coalition letter opposing domestic testing
Airlines for America joined other travel and tourism industry groups urging against federal domestic testing requirements in a letter to White House COVID-19 Response Team Coordinator Jeffrey Zients. The groups outline that requiring COVID-19 testing for passengers on domestic flights is “unwarranted” given the evidence that the risk of transmission onboard aircraft is very low. The letter also expressed concerns that such a requirement would overwhelm testing capacity, unfairly targets an already struggling industry and would “disproportionately prevent low-income travelers and rural Americans in small communities from travel.”
