Abra Group, the parent company of Avianca, GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes, Wamos Air, and NG Servicios Aéreos, is reportedly preparing to invest up to USD 70 million to acquire as much as 98% of Chilean low-cost carrier SKY Airline. The proposed deal marks a major consolidation move in Latin American aviation and is subject to regulatory approval.

According to reports, Abra has reached an agreement with SKY’s management outlining the airline’s entry into the group while retaining its brand identity, company culture, and workforce. The structure mirrors Abra’s strategy of integrating carriers operationally while preserving their individual market positions.

As part of the transaction, SKY’s current majority owners—the Paulmann Mast family—would become minority shareholders within the Abra Group. The investment would further strengthen Abra’s regional footprint and potentially enhance connectivity and fleet synergies across its portfolio of airlines.
