US-based lessor Aviation Capital Group (ACG) has acquired a portfolio of 24 aircraft leased to 17 airlines under a definitive agreement with Ireland-headquartered Avolon, further expanding its global fleet and customer base.

The companies confirmed on February 19, 2026, that they had signed the agreement, building on a previous 2025 transaction in which ACG purchased a 19-aircraft portfolio from Avolon. The latest deal underscores continued active trading in the aircraft leasing market as lessors reposition assets and scale their platforms.

Of the 24 aircraft included in the transaction, 18 are narrowbodies, 12 of which are new-technology models, while the remaining six are widebody aircraft, all classified as new-technology types. The portfolio’s focus on modern, fuel-efficient aircraft aligns with airlines’ ongoing fleet renewal strategies and environmental performance targets.

The aircraft are currently operated by 17 airlines across 16 countries, with four of those carriers becoming new customers for ACG. As of February 1, 2026, the portfolio has an average aircraft age of approximately 4.5 years and an average remaining lease term of about 8.9 years, providing ACG with stable, long-term contracted cash flows.

Thomas Baker, CEO and President of ACG, said proactive aircraft trading remains a key pillar of the company’s growth strategy. He noted that the addition of 24 in-demand aircraft strengthens ACG’s position as a lessor of scale while further enhancing the sustainability profile of its fleet, which is already among the youngest in the industry. Baker also acknowledged Avolon as a trusted trading partner in executing the transaction.

Ross O’Connor, Chief Financial Officer of Avolon, said the agreement extends the companies’ ongoing relationship and highlights ACG’s ability to execute large-scale portfolio transactions. He added that the deal builds on Avolon’s strong trading performance in 2025, reflecting sustained demand for high-quality leased assets.

The acquisition forms part of ACG’s broader fleet expansion strategy. The company currently has 470 owned, managed and committed aircraft in its portfolio. In January 2026, ACG placed an order for 50 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, split between the 737 MAX 10 and 737 MAX 8 variants, bringing its total 737 MAX order book to 121 aircraft and reinforcing its commitment to next-generation narrowbody capacity.
