Advantage VIP Lounge Wins Global Priority Pass Honor

Priority Pass members once again cast their votes to identify the world’s top airport retreats, submitting a record 781,000 verified ratings and reviews between January 2024 and January 2025—more than double the previous year’s total. The independent network, which now spans over 1,700 lounges, restaurants and experiences across 725 airports in 145 countries, used this surge in member engagement to determine its 2025 Excellence Awards. These honors reflect traveler feedback on hospitality, food and beverage quality, facilities and overall satisfaction, supplemented by partner nominations for innovation and outstanding staff.

In the awards process, lounges compete for three distinctions: those ranked highest by member reviews earn the coveted Lounge of the Year title in their region and one global winner, while panel-selected Pioneer Awards recognize venues that push the boundaries with cutting-edge services or sustainability practices. Exceptional employees earn All Star Awards, celebrating team members whose dedication transforms each visit into a memorable experience. This year’s accolades reveal shifting regional dynamics and highlight both familiar favorites and exciting newcomers.

Latin America emerged as the standout region in 2025, securing the global Lounge of the Year honor for the Advantage VIP Lounge in Belo Horizonte’s Tancredo Neves International Airport. This marks the second consecutive year the Advantage brand has claimed top honors, following its 2024 win in Curitiba, and underscores the network’s growing strength in Brazil. The region also swept all three All Star Awards, with individual team members from Colombia, Argentina and Brazil recognized for going above and beyond to assist travelers, from guiding overwhelmed families to providing heartfelt hospitality.

In Europe, the Vienna Lounge at Vienna Airport retained its regional crown after topping last year’s global standings, while Venice’s Marco Polo Club again earned a highly commended nod. In the Middle East and Africa, Muscat International Airport’s Primeclass Lounge advanced from runner-up to regional winner, reflecting improvements in service and amenities. The Pioneer Awards spotlighted the Infinity Lounge and Library Lounge at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport for their integration of AI-assisted voice feedback and robotic concierge services, alongside Bangalore’s 080 Lounges, which achieved 40 percent energy savings and embraced locally sourced ingredients under the 50 Miles Concept.

The Advantage VIP Lounge in Belo Horizonte impressed members with its authentic Brazilian cuisine—dishes like vaca atolada, chicken with okra and guava with cheese—alongside warm walnut wood decor, power-equipped seating and a fast-track entry system for domestic travelers via a private security checkpoint. International guests can access the lounge post-security near Boarding Gate 2. “Being recognized as the Global Lounge of the Year winner for the Priority Pass Excellence Awards is the fulfillment of a dream that began in 2015,” said Rute Scheliga, CEO of Advantage VIP Lounge, noting the accolade coincides with the brand’s tenth anniversary.

For travelers eager to experience these award-winning retreats, Priority Pass membership is offered through numerous premium credit cards, including the Capital One Venture X Rewards, Chase Sapphire Reserve, Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card and The Platinum Card from American Express. Members enjoy complimentary access to participating locations on travel days—regardless of airline or class of service—and typically may bring two guests at no added cost. As airport lounges evolve into essential spaces for rest and rejuvenation, the 2025 Excellence Awards guide members toward the most exceptional havens in the sky.
