Agiito Develops In-App Virtual Card

U.K.-based travel management company Agiito has developed an in-app virtual card tool designed to ease problems for travelers checking in to hotels, the company announced.

The cards, built by Agiito’s mobile development teams and made available on Wednesday, allow travelers to see and show virtual card details within the Agiito Connect app. If a hotel has not received payment details prior to a traveler’s arrival, they will be able to see the details without the need to contact Agiito’s support teams, according to the TMC.

“It’s our response to an industry-wide billback issue and will alleviate payment issues by adding virtual payment cards to traveler’s booking itineraries in our app,” Agiito delivery manager Luke Perry said in a statement.

Hotel check-in is a common pain point for virtual card use, often resulting in guests finding themselves unable to check in while front desk staff try to decipher payment information. The recent Business Travel Association Finance Conference reported that virtual cards resulted in almost 1,500 hours in calls over a six-month period, according to Agiito.
