Otto The Agent, a new artificial intelligence–powered business travel assistant, has officially launched after nine months in closed beta. The platform is backed by Madrona Venture and former CEOs of Orbitz, Expedia and Concur.

“Otto is about freedom and simplicity,” said Michael Gulmann, CEO and founder of Otto The Agent and former SVP of consumer product at Expedia. “Business travelers deserve more than a search box. Otto acts like a true executive assistant, anticipating needs and solving problems in real time. When things go wrong, Otto steps in like your best EA would—finding new options and keeping you on schedule without the stress.”

The conversational assistant can complete full travel transactions within a single interface. Users simply issue a prompt, and Otto handles booking without redirecting to external websites or requiring reentry of personal or payment details. According to the company, travelers can confirm bookings with a simple “book it.”

Steve Singh, founder of Concur and executive chairman of Otto The Agent, said the platform delivers concierge-level intelligence at scale. “The future of business travel is personal, predictive and effortless,” he said.

Otto connects with a traveler’s calendar, learns personal preferences, manages flights, hotels and loyalty details and proactively adjusts itineraries if plans change. It is accessible via web, mobile and email, with integrations across Microsoft 365, Google Calendar, Spotnana and Booking.com. For users needing human assistance, Otto can route calls to agents through Direct Travel.

Otto The Agent has partnered with Direct Travel to launch pilot programs with two companies, marking the beginning of its commercial rollout.
