Air Arabia Maroc, the Casablanca-based low-cost carrier, is gearing up for the Summer 2024 season with an exciting expansion of its fleet, entering into a wet-lease agreement with Canada Jetlines for two A320-200 aircraft. This strategic move is set to bolster the airline’s capacity from mid-June to mid-September 2024, catering to the increased demand for travel between Morocco and various destinations across Western Europe.

While specific schedules for the wet-leased aircraft are still in the planning stages, the addition is a significant step for Air Arabia Maroc as it aims to enhance its service offerings and connectivity. The airline currently operates a robust in-house fleet of nine A320-200s, serving a wide range of destinations and maintaining its position as a key player in the region’s competitive low-cost market.

Canada Jetlines, operating out of Toronto Pearson, has confirmed its plans to expand its A320-200 fleet, adding two more aircraft to support its growing ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) and wet-lease business segments. This expansion will not only enable the deployment of four aircraft on contracts in Europe, including the two aircraft designated for Air Arabia Maroc but also support another two A320s committed to Corendon Dutch Airlines for operations between April and October 2024.

Despite these international commitments, Canada Jetlines is committed to its leisure routes, continuing to serve popular destinations such as Florida, Cancún, and Montego Bay from Toronto Pearson and Halifax throughout the Summer 2024 season. This balanced approach underscores the airline’s flexible strategy, adapting to seasonal market demands while ensuring continuous operations on its established routes.

This wet-lease agreement represents a mutually beneficial arrangement for both Air Arabia Maroc and Canada Jetlines, facilitating enhanced travel options for passengers and contributing to the strategic growth objectives of both carriers. As the peak summer travel season approaches, travelers can look forward to expanded service options and increased connectivity between Morocco and Western Europe, courtesy of this collaborative effort.
