Air Astana Launches Atyrau-Tbilisi Direct Service
Air Astana is set to expand its network with the launch of a new direct route connecting Atyrau International Airport (GUW) in Western Kazakhstan to Tbilisi International Airport (TBS) in Georgia. The new service is part of the airline’s strategic network expansion aimed at boosting regional connectivity and tapping into new markets. Starting on May 27, 2025, Air Astana will operate three weekly flights on this route, reinforcing its growing presence in the Caucasus region.
The newly introduced route, served by an Airbus aircraft, is designed to enhance travel options for both business and leisure passengers. Air Astana did not specify the exact Airbus model that will be used; however, the carrier’s decision to opt for an Airbus solution underscores its commitment to modern, fuel-efficient operations that meet the latest industry standards.
Under the new schedule, flights on the Atyrau-Tbilisi route will depart on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Flight KC125 is scheduled to depart from Atyrau at 08:00 local time, arriving in Tbilisi at 08:50 local time. For the return journey, flight KC126 will depart Tbilisi at 12:00 local time and is set to land in Atyrau at 12:40 local time. With a total flight duration estimated at one hour and 50 minutes, the service offers a swift and convenient travel option between the two key regional hubs.
This new route is expected to bring a host of benefits to travelers in both Kazakhstan and Georgia. One notable advantage for Kazakhstan citizens is the visa-free travel provision to Georgia, allowing them to stay in the country for up to one year.
