Air Astana Launches Direct Flights to Da Nang

Air Astana is expanding its network with a new direct service from Almaty International Airport (ALA) to Da Nang International Airport (DAD) in Vietnam. This exciting development will see the airline operate twice-weekly flights using its modern Airbus A321LR fleet, starting on June 4, 2025. The introduction of this route not only reinforces Air Astana’s commitment to connecting Central Asia with key Southeast Asian destinations but also provides travelers with an efficient option to explore one of Vietnam’s most vibrant cities.
Da Nang, the largest city in central Vietnam, is renowned for its pristine white-sand beaches, ancient pagodas, and captivating caves adorned with Buddhist shrines. As an important port city, Da Nang serves as a major gateway for tourists seeking to discover Vietnam’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty. With a scheduled flight time of approximately seven hours and 10 minutes, this new route offers a convenient and comfortable travel option for passengers from Kazakhstan and beyond.
The flight schedule is designed to cater to both business and leisure travelers. Flight KC599 departs Almaty at 00:55 local time and is scheduled to land in Da Nang at 10:05 local time. For the return journey, flight KC600 departs Da Nang at 11:45 local time, arriving back in Almaty at 17:00 local time. These carefully planned timings ensure that travelers enjoy a smooth transition between time zones while maximizing their stay in Da Nang.
This new service brings the total number of Air Astana scheduled flights to Vietnam to nine. In addition to the newly launched Da Nang route, Air Astana already operates four weekly flights between Almaty and Cam Ranh International Airport (CXR) in Nha Trang, and three weekly flights between Astana’s Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport (NQZ) and Nha Trang. Furthermore, the seasonal route from Almaty and Astana to Phu Quoc International Airport (PQC) will continue to operate until March 31, 2025, ensuring a wide range of options for travelers heading to popular Vietnamese destinations.
The decision to launch a direct flight service to Da Nang comes at a time when interest in Vietnam as a travel destination is surging. Da Nang’s strategic location in central Vietnam makes it an ideal hub for exploring nearby attractions such as Hoi An and Hue. Moreover, the city’s economic significance and thriving tourism sector present numerous opportunities for business travelers and investors looking to tap into emerging markets.
Travelers from Kazakhstan will find additional benefits when flying to Vietnam on Air Astana. Under a bilateral agreement, Kazakh citizens are allowed visa-free entry into Vietnam for stays of up to 30 days. This provision simplifies travel planning and encourages more visitors to experience the cultural and scenic wonders that Da Nang and the surrounding region have to offer.
With this latest route addition, Air Astana continues to strengthen its position as a leading carrier in the region, connecting Central Asia with diverse and dynamic destinations in Southeast Asia. As the airline expands its network, it aims to deliver enhanced travel experiences by providing modern, comfortable aircraft and meticulously planned flight schedules that cater to the evolving needs of today’s global traveler.
