Air Botswana CEO Cleared as Disciplinary Charges Withdrawn

Botswana’s Transport Ministry, the attorney-general, and Air Botswana have formally withdrawn all disciplinary charges against the airline’s suspended general manager, Lulu Rasebotsa. The decision follows an urgent interdict filed by Rasebotsa in the High Court of Botswana challenging the legality of the disciplinary process.
Court records show that on October 15, the High Court in Lobatse approved a consent order confirming the withdrawal of both the disciplinary charges and a show cause letter issued against her. The Transport Ministry, represented by the attorney-general on behalf of the Minister of Infrastructure, and Air Botswana agreed to the withdrawal, effectively clearing Rasebotsa of all pending allegations.
Following the court’s approval, Rasebotsa was granted permission to withdraw her urgent application. The court directed all parties to submit affidavits regarding the issue of costs, with arguments scheduled for April 7, 2026. Rasebotsa declined to comment on the outcome when contacted by ch-aviation.
Earlier reports from Botswana’s Sunday Standard revealed that Rasebotsa had challenged 21 counts of alleged maladministration, claiming that the disciplinary process was biased and procedurally flawed. She was placed on administrative leave on June 30, initially for 30 days but later extended.
Her suspension came after the appointment of a new board led by Dane Kondić, the former CEO of Air Serbia and euroAtlantic Airways. His concurrent leadership role at Mozambique’s LAM had sparked controversy over potential conflicts of interest during Rasebotsa’s tenure.
