Air Canada and Bell Collaborate to Enhance Connectivity for Travelers
Air Canada and Bell are joining forces to make it even easier for travelers to stay connected. The new multi-year partnership between Canada’s flag carrier and Canada’s largest communications company, which was announced earlier this month, will offer significant benefits for customers in-flight and beyond.
Free texting for Aeroplan members
Aeroplan members worldwide can stay in touch with friends, family and colleagues while in the sky, with free texting now available onboard Air Canada flights, sponsored by Bell. Free texting is available on all Wi-Fi equipped aircraft across Air Canada’s fleet, including Air Canada Rouge and Air Canada Express, and allows Aeroplan members to send and receive text-based messages via onboard Wi-Fi.
Customers will need to add their Aeroplan number to their booking before checking in, then connect to the onboard Wi-Fi after takeoff and select the ‘Free Texting’ option. Customers will be able to message using popular messaging apps including Apple’s iMessage, Meta’s WhatsApp and Messenger, Rakuten’s Viber, and Messages by Google.
Free SIM cards for newcomers and visitors
Newcomers and visitors to Canada will gain easy and immediate ways to stay connected upon arrival in Canada. Complimentary mobile SIM cards, that can be activated in flight, will be offered on select inbound international flights, allowing newcomers and visitors to walk off the plane connected.
The only Canadian airline to offer Live TV
Last year, Air Canada announced the launch of Live TV on board select domestic flights within Canada, offering travellers the ability to watch live sports and get the latest breaking news in real-time. Air Canada’s new partnership with Bell will help continue to build Air Canada’s award-winning in-flight entertainment offering – including the expansion of Live TV service on flights to the U.S., which is expected later this summer.
