Air Canada Launches New Seasonal Toronto-Brussels Service

Air Canada has commenced its latest seasonal route between Toronto and Brussels, Belgium, as of August 1, 2023. This new addition to the airline’s network will operate five times a week until October 27, 2023, utilizing its Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft.

The flight from Toronto to Brussels, designated as AC 834, takes off at 18:30 local time and arrives the following day at 07:45 local time. The return flight, AC 835, departs Brussels at 10:15 local time and touches down in Toronto at 12:20 local time. The flight duration is approximately seven hours and 20 minutes.

The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner boasts a capacity of 255 passengers across three classes: 20 Signature Class, 21 Premium Economy, and 214 Economy. Travelers can take advantage of promotional fares starting from EUR 601 for a roundtrip ticket.

Air Canada’s new service complements its existing daily flights between Montreal and Brussels, operated by Boeing 777-300ERs accommodating up to 450 passengers. This expanded offering aims to provide enhanced travel options and connections for customers in Canada, Belgium, Europe, and Africa through Air Canada’s partnership with Brussels Airlines within the Star Alliance network.

Mark Galardo, Senior Vice President for Network Planning and Revenue Management at Air Canada, expressed the airline’s strategic approach to network expansion, aiming to meet anticipated demand and create seamless connections across regions. He highlighted the complementarity between the Toronto-Brussels route and the existing Montreal-Brussels service, providing travelers with enhanced flexibility.

Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airport, shared his excitement about Toronto being reintroduced as a direct destination from Brussels Airport. He emphasized the importance of this new route in enhancing the airport’s long-haul network, highlighting the operational efficiency of the Boeing 787 aircraft.
