Air Canada Launches Non-Stop Flights Between Vancouver and Singapore
Air Canada has announced the addition of a new route between Vancouver, Canada, and Singapore, marking the airline’s return to the Asian country after three decades. Starting in 2024, Air Canada will operate four weekly flights on its Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet, known for its fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. The route aims to cater to the evolving global trends and strengthen Air Canada’s presence in the Indo-Pacific region, benefiting travelers seeking to explore Singapore and connect to other destinations in Southeast Asia, South India, and Western Australia through its partnership with Singapore Airlines.
The inaugural flight, AC19, is scheduled to depart from Vancouver on April 3, 2024, with the return flight, AC20, departing from Singapore on April 4, 2024. Tickets for these flights are now available for purchase through Air Canada’s website and other booking channels. The strategic importance of the route for both countries is highlighted by the commitment to grow Vancouver International Airport as a premier trans-Pacific hub and the positive response from Singapore Changi Airport and the Singapore Tourism Board.
Air Canada’s non-stop flights between Singapore and Vancouver position the airline as the sole carrier on this route, further strengthening its connectivity with Canada. Previously, Air Canada operated flights between Singapore and Toronto via Hong Kong, while Singapore Airlines operated flights between Singapore and Vancouver via Seoul until October. The reintroduction of this direct route provides travelers from Canada with convenient access to Singapore’s vibrant culture, culinary experiences, and attractions, fostering tourism and business opportunities between the two nations.
