Air Canada Launches Vancouver-Manila Direct Flight

Air Canada has successfully launched its inaugural direct service between Vancouver International Airport and Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport, marking a historic milestone for the carrier and strengthening ties between Canada and the Philippines. The first flight, designated AC 017, took off from Vancouver on April 2, 2025, at 13:44 local time and is currently en route to Manila. Scheduled to land at 06:20 local time on April 3, this historic service is the first of its kind offered by a Canadian airline, providing a faster and more convenient travel option for both business and leisure travelers. The flight was operated using a modern Boeing 787 Dreamliner, featuring three distinct cabins of service: Signature Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class. The Dreamliner is renowned for its comfort, fuel efficiency, and advanced technology, which enhances the overall travel experience. The launch of this route reflects Air Canada’s commitment to innovation and meeting the evolving needs of its diverse customer base. This direct connection will facilitate travel for the large Filipino community in Canada, which numbers nearly one million, as reported in the latest census.
