Air France connects LA to Cannes Film Festival with A350 nonstop flights
Air France runs most of its long-haul operations out of Paris, France, but it does make an exception for the film and creative industries.
The French flag carrier is planning three special long-range flights linking Nice-Côte d’Azur international airport (NCE) to America’s entertainment capital, Los Angeles (LAX) to cater to those attending this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
The new flights, which will be in addition to 26 weekly frequencies operated by Air France during the summer season between its hub at Paris Charles-de-Gaulle (CDG) and Los Angeles International (LAX), will be running on May 15, 22 and 29, 2023.
This move comes as a response to the strong demand experienced by Air France on this specific route around the festival dates between May 16 and 27, 2023.
Air France will deploy Airbus A350-900 for this mission. These aircraft are configured with 324 seats with 34 in business, 24 in premium economy and 266 in economy class.
This is not the only event pertaining to the creative industries that has caught the attention of Air France. A few weeks after the film festival, between June 19 and 22, 2023, the French airline will again deploy one of its widebody aircraft to Nice, this time a Boeing 777-300ER, to operate four nonstop flights between the Côte d’Azur capital and New York (JFK).
The reason is none other than the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, a top event for the global advertising and creative communication industries.
