Air France-KLM Launches Gen AI Factory With Google and Accenture

Air France-KLM has partnered with Accenture and Google Cloud to launch a generative AI factory aimed at accelerating innovation and operational efficiency across the airline group’s business sectors.

This new AI initiative, hosted on Google Cloud, is designed to identify and implement high-value generative AI use cases through a scalable, cloud-based infrastructure. According to the partners, the framework will enable Air France-KLM to streamline digital development cycles by more than 35%, speeding up the transition from experimentation to full-scale enterprise deployment.

The collaboration builds on a March initiative in which Air France-KLM began migrating its digital applications from three data centers to the cloud in a multi-year transformation supported by Accenture. Since then, the airline has introduced a private generative AI assistant and developed specialized AI-driven solutions for aircraft maintenance and repair tasks.

The newly established AI factory will also support agentic AI capabilities, allowing for more autonomous and context-aware tools that enhance decision-making and automation. Early implementations have already shown positive impact in areas like ground operations, customer service, and engineering and maintenance.

“This collaboration demonstrates how investing in a robust cloud-powered digital core strengthens organizational resilience and agility,” said Sabine Bechelani, managing director for travel and client account lead at Accenture. “It positions Air France-KLM to drive competitiveness in an environment of rapid digital acceleration.”

Air France-KLM says generative AI will be instrumental in both simplifying the customer journey and creating long-term business value by improving operational excellence and strategic differentiation.
